On Tuesday morning in Broward County, a gasoline tanker and a South Florida Transit bus were involved in a collision. As reported on TBO.com, 25 people who were on the bus were injured. Neither of the drivers, who were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, sustained any type of injury. This makes me think about the value of seat belts. If the transit bus supplied seat belts, would as many injuries have occurred?
My research shows the wholesale cost of seat belts range from $15-$20.. .maybe this could be something local transit bus departments could look into? Seems like a small price to pay to save someone’s life or prevent serious injuries from occurring. If there is a seat belt available, we strongly encourage you to wear it.
