The First Steps in your Personal Injury Case are Crucial

by on Monday, April 30, 2012  —  Car Accidents, Motorcycle Accidents, Truck (Tractor-Trailer) Accidents

At Brooks Law Group, we urge you to call us if you are ever injured in an car accident, motorcycle accident, trucking accident, or ANY type of personal injury case.  In this blog post, I am going to tell you about what will happen right at the beginning of you case.  This is to give you an idea about how we do things so you can be prepared.

At your initial intake appointment, one of our personal injury case managers will collect information about you, your injury history, and what happened in the accident.  The case manager will also gather any pictures of your injuries and property damage.

Next, your part is to begin or continue treating with doctors and following their orders.  It is VERY important that you keep your appointments.  You will also be required to fill out an impact questionnaire.

While you are treating with your doctors, we will be doing a lot of work for your case behind the scenes.  We will set up a file for you, contact the insurance companies involved with your case, and request all medical records from prior similar injuries.  We will order insurance information from the defendant, the accident report, a video tape of the accident, and the spoliation letter.

We are here to guide you in the right direction to help you with your case.  I see it too often where people go without any kind of representation for their Personal Injury Case and they make that one small choice, say the wrong thing, or sign a document that ruins their chance at a fair settlement.  We are here to help you make the right choices.  Call us today at 888-We-Mean-It (888-936-3264).
