Being a personal injury attorney, I am very familiar with minor injury cases all the way up to catastrophic injury cases. Throughout the years, I have noticed that the majority of our catastrophic injury cases are results of truck accidents. Truck accidents tend to be VERY dangerous and I am going to tell you why.
- Tractor trailer trucks are MUCH heavier than cars. They can weigh up to 80,000 pounds or more when fully loaded. That is A LOT. Therefore, when an accident occurs with a standard size car and a large truck, the injuries have the potential to be extreme or even fatal.
- Another reason why truck accidents are very dangerous is because of the type of cargo a truck may be carrying. If a truck is carrying flammable or dangerous materials (which many are), an explosion could occur as a result of a crash, causing serious burn injuries and possible death.
I want you to practice caution while driving near tractor trailer trucks. It is important to remember that they have a blind spot. If you are going to pass a truck on the highway, get by them as quickly as possible and don’t linger along the side of one for too long. In some cases, you may be better off not passing them at all. We truly care about our readers and we want you all to practice safety while out on the roads.
