Brooks Law Group staff member joins remote State of the Firm meeting

Our clients deserve a law firm that is constantly working to improve and grow. That’s why here at Brooks Law Group, we are always looking for opportunities to better ourselves. One way we do that is by holding a firm-wide meeting to talk over what’s happened in the first half of the year and what we hope to achieve in the second half. This year looked a little different as we met with staff from each of our offices through video call to maintain social distancing. Here’s an inside look at what went down in the State of the Firm meeting.

A Focus on Our Core Values

We started off our meeting by reminding ourselves of our core values. These guide everything that we do and help us accomplish our mission: To provide the best experience possible to our clients, staff and all others we encounter.

Our core values are:

  1. Results Matter
  2. Impacting Lives
  3. Integrity
  4. Team Driven Accountability
  5. Teamwork (Camaraderie)
  6. Gossip Free Environment
  7. Thinking Outside the Box
  8. Gratefulness

While we strive to live these out each day, it never hurts to remind ourselves why we do what we do. Each client that comes to Brooks Law Group can expect to see these values throughout every part of their case.

Looking Forward and Setting Firm Goals

Our past successes mean a lot to us, but we never want to rest on our laurels. We spent some time listening to attorneys Steve Brooks and Beach Brooks, Jr. as they explained some new staff policies. These are intended to streamline our workflows and keep our cases moving along smoothly for all clients.

We also discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us and what we need to do to keep moving forward. Our offices are open and that we are taking precautions to protect against the virus. We are continuing to accept new cases and are offering free video consultations to keep you safe. No matter what, Brooks Law Group is prepared to keep serving you!

Community Guest Speaker

We were happy to welcome Brad Beatty, executive director of Heart for Winter Haven, to speak to our staff. Heart for Winter Haven is a great local non-profit organization we partner with that focuses on alleviating poverty through restoring relationships. Brad told us about how they are providing assistance for individuals who have lost income because of COVID-19. For more information, click here to visit their website. Our staff were encouraged to tell their clients and family members about this program, and we are truly excited to see the good that comes from this. We would like to thank Brad again for taking the time to speak with us!

Bonding Together as a Family

At Brooks Law Group, we like to think of ourselves as a family. We appreciate teamwork and we all know we have each other’s back. This sense of community keeps our firm going strong, and we treat our clients like family as well.

To keep bonding together, each staff member on the call was invited to share a personal story or show an item that held significance for them. One staff member shared that she was an avid skydiver when she was a teenager. Another told about how he had been called to dance onstage at a country concert! Through this virtual “show and tell,” we were able to learn something about our co-workers that we may have never known. We can all say we’re closer now than we were before, and we hope this shows to our clients.

We are so happy about the success of our very first virtual State of the Firm meeting. The last half of the year is in full swing, and it is sure to be even better than the first! Even through a pandemic and the start of a new decade, Brooks Law Group stands ready to serve you and give you the best client experience possible. There has never been a better time to contact us, and we look forward to giving you a free no-obligation case evaluation.
