One month ago in Winter Haven, a 40-year-old woman by the name of Tammy Ellison was killed when getting out of her car in the parking lot of where she was employed at Gessler Clinic. Ellison had just arrived at work in the morning around 7:50am. As she was walking into work, she was struck by a vehicle being driven by one of her co-workers which, for unknown reasons accelerated into her after jumping a curb and going through some shrubbery in the parking lot.

Kathy Woods, 58, was also going to work that same morning and as she went to go park her 2008 Honda Pilot, her vehicle was not able to stop until a couple of feet after the horrifying impact. Tammy Ellison was taken to Winter Haven Hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead.

At this time, the cause for Woods’ vehicle to accelerate and jump the curb is still unknown and no further reports have been made since the date of the accident. No charges have been filed at this time as well.
