Brooks Law Group Announces “Friday’s Inside Look from Brooks”

Categories:Firm News

During our first Facebook Live session last Friday, Steve Brooks reached out our Facebook community to help us name our live sessions. We would like to thank our Facebook friend, J Davyd Hall, for recommending “Friday’s Inside Look from Brooks!” Every Friday we will host “Friday’s Inside Look from Brooks” sessions that will give our audience the chance to ask legal questions and receive honest answers in a casual setting. This will also give our viewers the opportunity to put a face to the names here at Brooks Law Group.

Full Coverage? MYTH!

Last week our attorneys, Steve and Beach Brooks III, provided some excellent insurance advice. They went over the common myth of “full coverage insurance.” As discussed:

  • There really is no such thing as “full coverage” as an accident and the extent of the injuries sustained as a result are unpredictable.
  • Beach III, our Tampa attorney, explained that Florida law only requires drivers to carry $10,000 Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and $10,000 in Property Damage.
  • In order to ensure drivers for as little as possible to maximize their profits, insurance companies will tell their clients they are fully covered.

Bodily Injury Coverage

We also learned, according to a recent alarming statistic, that 40% of drivers in Florida do not carry Bodily Injury (BI) coverage! BI coverage protects you in the event that you are the “at fault” driver in an accident and are sued. How do you protect yourself if you find yourself the victim of a case accident? Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage (UM)!

UM Coverage

According to DMV.org In the event of an auto accidentuninsured motorist (UM) coverage – also called uninsured motorist bodily injury (UMBI) insurance – will cover you and your passengers for:

  • Medical expenses.
  • Pain and suffering.
  • Lost wages.

See You on Friday!

As we have said before, accidents are unpredictable. In order to educate yourself if you are ever involved in an accident, please join our attorneys this Friday for “Friday’s Inside Look from Brooks!” You can submit your questions to us via Facebook Messenger and we will answer them live each Friday! We look forward to hearing from you!
